Joe-Kyari Gadzama SAN’s manifesto harps on two key points: continuity and innovation. The Learned Silk and leading candidate for the Office of the President of the NBA believes that Mr Olumide Akpata’s legacies must be continued and he has the ability to bring innovations to the Bar.
The manifesto of the Learned Silk then goes further into three categories: Welfare Plan, Our Profession and His Plan; and Our Country and His Plan.
Some of the key points in the Manifesto is the improvement of remuneration for lawyers by working with NBA branches to set realistic benchmarks for different states, establishment of the minimum wage monitoring committee, establishment of a students’ wing of the NBA, improving the welfare of law teachers, in-house counsel and law officers, improving the NYSC for lawyers, ensuring electoral reforms, ensuring speedy dispensation of justice, creating a tech-savvy judiciary & NBA and reforming the method for the conferment of the rank of SAN.
